Duration: 1/2 Day - 3 Hours, 3 - IICRC CEC hours earned

Course Description:

This 3 hour class is an introduction of lead containing material within the workplace. This course
is designed to provide lead awareness to contractors, maintenance staff and managers that
encounter lead containing materials during typical work related duties. The course provides an
overview on the following topics:

• Lead
• History of Lead
• Use and Applications
• Hazards and Health Effects
• Legislation
• Lead Management and Risk Levels

Learning Outcomes: On Completion of this course, learners will have better understanding of the Lead Regulation and compliance of Lead regulations.

Course Structure:
Section 1: What is Lead? Lead History.
Section 2: Where is Lead Found in a Building? How does it look like? WorkSafeBC regulations
Section 3: Toxicology and Health Effect of Lead
Section 4: WorkSafeBC Lead Abatement Risk Level. Emergency Procedures and PPE use.
Section 5: FAQ & Questions
