Description MTCU - Asbestos Supervisor 253S - (Ontario Only)

This course would be appropriate for workers that have successfully completed the Asbestos Worker  253W program and will be supervising Type I / II & 3 asbestos abatement projects.

Training course will meet all Ontario Provincial regulatory requirements including the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) program.
 
o   Provincial Regulations Regarding Type 3 Work Areas
o   Non-Asbestos Hazards in Type 3 Work Areas
o   Measures and Procedures in Type 3 Operations in Ontario
o   Worker Protection and Hygiene Practices
o   Basic Equipment Procedures
o   Project Planning
o   Handling and Disposal of Asbestos Waste
o   Other Safety Consideration

**Mandatory Prerequisites

1.  Certification in the MTCU Asbestos Abatement Worker (AAW) program 253W.

2.  You also need to complete the Construction Safety Association of Ontario (CSAO)’s Basics   
     of  Supervision course or proof of completion of an equivalent formal Construction   
     Supervisor course having a minimum duration of 16 hours lesson time in order to receive
     your final certification with the MTCU.

In order to write the Asbestos Supervisor exam you must have a Designated Signing Authority with the MTCU.  Please call you local MTCU office for more information.  This may take up to three weeks to complete.
