ODORx Smoke Wash. Fiber cleaner and deodorant. Effective on upholstery, clothing, linens, blankets, draperies and more. Can be used as a laundry cleaning booster to deodorize soot and smoke odors in washable fabrics. Simply add to washer and launder.

Improper cleaning of garments that have been exposed to odors, especially smoke odor, can cause the odor to permanently settle onto the fibers. Smoke Wash is a highly concentrated smoke odor counteractant and detergent booster specially formulated to remove fire related smoke residues and odors from machine-washable items. The product's specialty surfactants and solvent system attack greasy, oily soils that have coated the fibers. The product is fully water soluble. The essential oils help to counteract the odor.

Product Application

For Laundry: For general fire related smoke odors add to wash cycle at the rate of 2 ounces (16 mL) per 8 lb load. Overuse may cause foaming.

For best results in removing smoke odor and stains:

  • Soak overnight in a solution of general purpose laundry detergent, Degrease-All and Smoke Wash. Use 8 ounces Degrease-All and 1 ounce Smoke Wash per 5 gallons cold water (240 mL Degrease-All and 30 mL Smoke Wash per 19 L water).
  • Pre-spot stains with a solution of Degrease-All that has been diluted at 32 ounces Degrease-All with 96 ounces water (250 mL / L). Add 1 cup (8 ounces / 240 mL) of Degrease-All to the wash cycle.
  • Launder normally.

Protein-related smoke. The odor derived from burning protein (e.g. meat, fish, beans) is unusually objectionable and becomes more so as the residue is exposed to heat and moisture. To improve removal of protein smoke from LAUNDERABLE garments:

1) Run a test load with Smoke Wash.

2) If odors persist, substitute Double-O Protein Odor Counteractant.

For use on upholstered furniture: Smoke Wash can be used with a foam cleaning technique on upholstered furniture or as a textile preconditioner. This technique uses only foam generated from agitating a solution of Smoke Wash. The foam loosens the soil on the fiber but does not saturate the fiber. This method can prevent the soot from settling onto the fiber and permanently attaching to the fiber.

  • To prepare a solution for this method, add 2 ounces of Smoke Wash to a bucket containing one gallon of warm water (16 mL / L)
  • Agitate the solution with brush or natural sponge to generate foam.
  • Wet vacuum to remove dry soil from upholstery.
  • Work from one small section of the upholstered piece to another. Apply foam to a small area with a natural sponge or a soft brush.
  • Remove excess foam with clean white terry cloth towels or by using a wet vacuum.
  • Proceeding to the next area.

  • Delivery Options:
    • Safety Express Fleet: In our regular service areas, we offer next-day delivery as the standard option. For customers seeking expedited service, same-day delivery is available, subject to availability.
    • Courier Services: Provided by carriers such as Purolator and FedEx, with delivery timelines aiming for next-day delivery but may take up to 3 days. We do not guarantee specific delivery timelines for outside carriers.
    • LTL Carriers: For larger, palletized orders, services by Day & Ross or Manitoulin, aiming for next-day delivery but may take up to 3 days depending on the delivery location. We do not guarantee specific delivery timelines for outside carriers.
  • Freight Charges: All customers with PPC (Prepaid & Charge) freight terms will be responsible for paying the freight charges applicable to their orders. This includes any additional charges for services such as heated delivery, use of a tailgate, scheduled deliveries, or expedited delivery.
  • Preferential Freight Terms:
    • PP400: Orders exceeding $400 before tax, shipped to a single location within the regular service area of the customer’s nearest branch, will qualify for no-charge standard freight. This does not cover same day/express shipments or special handling charges.
    • PP750: Orders exceeding $750 before tax, shipped to a single location within the regular service area of the customer’s nearest branch, will qualify for no-charge standard freight. This does not cover same day/express shipments or special handling charges.
    • PP1000: Orders exceeding $1,000 before tax, shipped to a single location within the regular service area of the customer’s nearest branch, will qualify for no-charge standard freight. This does not cover same day/express shipments or special handling charges.
    • Collect: The customer has opted to use their own freight carrier and will pay the carrier on their account or directly upon delivery.
  • Policy Enforcement: Changes to a customer's freight terms must be authorized by a regional sales manager or the Director of Sales. Any deviations from this policy will be subject to corrective action to ensure compliance and fairness

PRODUCT RETURN POLICY

Timely Returns: Returns will be accepted for unopened products in their original packaging within 15 days from the date of purchase.

Restocking Fee: Items returned after 15 days will be subject to a 20% restocking fee.

Non-Eligible Returns:


Products classified as non-stock or special-order items are ineligible for return to Safety Express.

Return Authorization:


Request Authorization: To initiate a return, you'll need a return authorization number from Safety Express. This is a crucial step for a smooth return process. Exceptions:


Damaged Items: If you receive a damaged item, please notify Safety Express within 15 days. We will promptly provide an exchange for the exact item during this period. After 15 days, the product will be repaired in accordance with the manufacturer's warranty.

Extraordinary Events: Safety Express will not accept returns on high-volume purchases made during catastrophic events like floods, fires, tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, etc. Safety Express reserves the right to determine if such an event has occurred.

All prices are checked by us when we process your order. In the unlikely event that We have shown incorrect pricing information, please note the following:


We will contact you before proceeding with your order to inform you of the mistake and to ask you how you wish to proceed. We will give you the option to purchase the Services at the correct price or to cancel your order.


IICRC Exam Fees for online classes are paid upon registering for your exam via the IICRC website. IICRC Exam Fees for in-person classes are paid directly to the Instructor at the time of the exam. Payment methods for Exam Fees vary.


Your in-person IICRC class registration fee includes a light breakfast, lunch, snacks and beverages.



Payments


Payment for classes, as indicated on the order, is due in full at time of registration. Your chosen payment method will be charged as indicated.

Cancellations


All registrations for classes are final and non-refundable.



Cancellation Policy:


If, outside of 31 days of the enrolled class, you are unable to attend, you can choose to transfer your seat to someone else within your organization or choose another class date for the same or equivalent value class.



If, inside of 31 days of the enrolled class, you are unable to attend, you may transfer your seat to someone else within your organization and no other changes will be accepted due to the commitments we’ve incurred with the training organization and instructor.



A full refund will be provided if, due to unforeseen circumstances, we are required to cancel one of our classes. We do not accept responsibility for any losses you may incur relating to travel expenses. We recommend, for in-person classes, to purchase refundable or flexible airline tickets.
